13th Statewide Peer Mediation Conference

Three representatives from Maui attended the 13th Statewide Peer Mediation Conference April 26 at the Radisson Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel. Paul Brown, Director of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Education, and Mediation Services of Maui trainers Kip Krieger and Karen Kesseler, participated in workshops on critical school issues such as sexual assault, mediating temporary restraining orders, bullying, and mediation with deaf students.

The annual day long conference is organized and conducted entirely by student mediators from various intermediate and high schools throughout Hawaii. Over 120 peer mediators from 22 schools on Kauai, Hawaii, and Oahu participated in this years event.
